Invitation Letter from BIS

Respected PRINCIPAL, ABNSEAL COLLEGE,

As you may be aware, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the National Standard Body of India, under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Government of India was established for harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods. BIS has been providing traceable and tangible benefits to the national economy in a number of ways, i.e. providing safe reliable quality goods; minimizing health hazards to consumers; promoting exports and imports substitute; control over proliferation of varieties, etc.

In recent years, Standards Clubs have garnered prominence and are being enthusiastically promoted by educational institutions to help improve the schooling experience of students and provide opportunities to better their professional and personal growth. BIS intends to support such activity by providing learning opportunities to young talents in the field of quality and standardization through mutually beneficial collaboration in the form of Standards Clubs in Educational Institutions. Teachers would have an important role in this activity in guiding and motivating students to channelize their creativity and enhancing their scientific temperament. Students are the members of the Standards club and the teachers are the Mentors of the Club. BIS has created more than 4000 Standards clubs in Schools and Colleges all over India out of which almost 400 schools have been created in the state of West Bengal.

It is hence requested to give your consent and allow us to create standard club in your institution. The details of activities to be undertaken every year and financial support is attached.

Please also find attached a letter issued to your college from Shri Binay Ranjan Santra, Deputy Secretary to the Govt of West Bengal, Bikash Bhawan where the college has been directed to form a standard club.

A line of confirmation within 3 days from your side will be highly appreciated. For details kindly contact Smt Narjuna Sultana, Standard Promotion Officer.
